U.S. Federal Court: CIA must disclose drone data

A federal appeals court has ruled that the CIA must disclose a description of its records on strikes in response to a FIA request filed by the ACLU. Judge Merrick B. Garland rejected the Obama administration’s efforts to keep the program of targeted killings secret, despite a continuous stream of nods and winks. The ruling does not necessarily mean the records will see the public light of day, but does require a judge to look over the data. He wrote that “as it is now clear that the agency does have an interest in drone strikes, it beggars belief that it does not also have documents relating to the subject.” More here.
