Houses Passes Next Year’s Defense Budget

The US House of Congress voted overwhelmingly to approve next year’s DoD budget, the only government department to receive a double digit increase in funds. The $649 billion budget, less than Obama had sought, includes $119 billion for wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
